Critic reviews
"A blend of 87% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc, the 2025 Gazin unfurls in the glass with notes of plums, dark berries and violets. Medium- to full-bodied, rich and layered, with a dense core of fruit framed by plenty of sweet, powdery tannin, it concludes with a long, youthfully structured finish."
William Kelley, April 2026, RobertParker.com

"The 2025 Gazin was picked between August 28 and September 10 and aged in 40% new oak. It has a perfumed nose, well defined, with touches of oyster shell emerging with time and combining with the black fruit, remaining quite classical and old school in style. The palate is medium-bodied with ample weight. Rounded and pliant tannins, hints of truffle towards the finish, which just needs a little more grip. This will be one of the more approachable vintages from this Pomerol stalwart."
Neal Martin, May 2026, Vinous.com

"The 2025 Gazin is a fabulous wine. It's deep, rich and powerful but also wonderfully layered in the glass, with real finesse and tons of nuance. Dark red-toned fruit, lavender, mocha, spice and licorice open beautifully. The 2025 impresses with its captivating energy, finely sketched details and sublime balance. Magnificent. Tasted two times"
Antonio Galloni, April 2026, Vinous.com

"A juicy and fine tannin texture with currant, raspberry and bark aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied and well structured with a caressing finish, all in balance. Very fine and attractive."
James Suckling, April 2026, JamesSuckling.com

"Red, blue, and black fruits, sappy flowers, damp earth, and some underbrush nuances all define the 2025 Château Gazin, a medium to full-bodied Pomerol with ripe tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and outstanding length on the finish. It's a ripe, sexy, complex Pomerol that has tons to love. The blend is 87% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Cabernet Franc. Tasted twice."
Jeb Dunnuck, May 2026, JebDunnuck.com

"Intense, dark berry fruits, an old school Pomerol, austere and strict at this early stage, with high tannic count that slowly builds through the palate. Definitely in the Left Bank style of Gazin, needs time to soften. Tasted twice"
Jane Anson, April 2026, JaneAnson.com

"Black and blue fruit on the nose with some exotic spiced accents. Quite a light take, tannins are impactful and fill the mouth but this is quite closed and quiet for the moment. It has some watery blackcurrant juice but is a bit lifeless at the moment. Coiled and compact."
Georgina Hindle, April 2026, Decanter.com

"(Pomerol; 87% Merlot; 10% Cabernet Sauvignon; 3% Cabernet Franc; 14% alcohol; tasted twice, the second time at the UGCB press tasting at the Cité du Vin). Reassuringly Gazin, with that lovely redolent crasse de fer iron mineral note generously enrobing the plump red and darker berries with a little red and darker stone fruit too. Luminous and ample in frame and fresher than most, with much less oak than used to enrobe this wine, this is the latest - and the greatest - of the new Gazins!"
