"The 2025 Grand Puy Ducasse has a very succinct nose. At first, it feels maybe a bit underpowered, yet with a few swirls it reveals gorgeous blackberry, cedar and violet scents that blossom over time. The palate is medium-bodied with very lithe and supple tannins, well-judged acidity and commendable cohesion on the finish. This vastly improved Pauillac should be more approachable than some of its peers, yet it has the substance to age in bottle."

Grand Puy Ducasse remains a bold, fruity Pauillac, but its balance is commendable. All the elements are so well proportioned."

"Lovely fragrance and intensity of aromatics, blackcurrants and cherries with some dried herbal notes. Supple and grippy, chalky and filling but with such delicacy that it’s not at all overwhelming. Young but not really tight or too focused, it settles after a few minutes opening up the ripe black fruit. Mouthwatering acidity perfectly balances the tannins and structure without one part being over the top. I like the restrained style but there’s still an undercurrent of blueberries, cola, mint, liquorice and graphite. Assured and confident. Spiced."

"(Pauillac; 66% Cabernet Sauvignon; 31% Merlot; 3% Petit Verdot; 13% alcohol; tasted twice, the second time at the UGCB press tasting at the Cité du Vin). The steep upward progression here before and particularly after the opening of the new wine-making facility continues, as this wine confirms. This is a simply beautiful Pauillac, a wine of great charm and elegance with the aristocratic self-confidence that somehow the appellation exudes at its best. The combination of floral and cedary notes on the nose is divine as is the way they both seem to weave themselves through and around the dark berry and stone fruits; there's a slight hint of oak smoke too, above all when retasted at the UGCB press tasting. This has lots of density and concentration for the vintage and, although élevage will be crucial, I have great confidence that we will look back on this as a new reference for this estate."
