"The Vie di Romans 2023 Friuli Isonzo Pinot Grigio Dessimis shows a faint copper hue with pink-gold reflections. The bouquet is quite expressive, revealing floral nuances and sweet almond that go beyond the typical profile of Pinot Grigio, offering a more sophisticated interpretation that transcends simple stone fruit and citrus. The wine is dry and tonic, with a medium texture and an edgy, firm, mineral-driven close. The fruit comes from 9.3 hectares of shallow, rocky soils with reddish clay rich in iron oxide and aluminum, providing excellent drainage and contributing to the wine’s structure and mineral intensity. Aged for nine months on the lees in 225-liter barriques, 66,000 bottles were produced."
