"The 2023 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru opens in the glass with ethereal aromas of sweet berries, petals, potpourri and spices. Medium to full-bodied, lively and fine-boned, it's elegantly structured, with bright acids and a perfumed finish."
William Kelley, January 2025, RobertParker.com
"The 2023 Griottes-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from two parcels on chalky soil. It has a slightly more savory nose with finely delineated hints of brown spices infusing the red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, with quite firm tannins compared to other cuvées. This is a relatively muscular Griottes, with white pepper and hints of clove on its layered and persistent, dried blood-tinged finish. Like the Les Amoureuses, this will need time."
Neal Martin, January 2025, Vinous.com
"Cask sample. Almost plump! Meaty. Pillowy. Fatty. There’s a fatty density to this wine combined with sinewy chewiness that reminds me a bit of rare steak. Very resistant right now. Liquorice length and bitterness and resistance. Stately magnificence but at the moment more edifice than wine."
Tamlyn Currin, November 2024, JancisRobinson.com
"Dark crimson purple with also a darker cherry fruit, the Griotte-Chambertin unsurprisingly comes across as a little sterner and less sensual when tasted immediately after Les Amoureuses. Instead, it is much more structured, with fine tannins and fair persistence. Drink from 2032-2040."
Jasper Morris, January 2028, InsideBurgundy.com
"Forest floor, dried roses, cherry cobbler and bergamot sing from the glass. Véronique uses lots of whole cluster here, and what a lovely effect it has! The impressive fruit depth and succulence are held in check by good acidic tension and flowing, drizzle-soft tannins. Downright divine, this textbook Griotte has impressive potential."
