Critic reviews
"The 2023 Marquis d'Alesme Becker has a well-defined bouquet that blossoms in the glass, beautiful black cherries and blueberry fruit, very floral and perhaps more expressive than the Labégorce. The palate is medium-bodied with silky tannins, quite lush and yet there is superb tension with a caressing, intense finish. Outstanding."
Neal Martin, February 2026, Vinous.com
"The 2023 Marquis d'Alesme is sleek and silky right out of the gate. Dark blue-toned fruit, lavender, mocha, licorice and crushed flowers all grace the palate. Margaux at its most delicate."
Antonio Galloni, March 2026, Vinous.com
"Fine wood spices with subtle creaminess and aromas of wasabi, cassis and berries. Juicy and compact on the medium- to full-bodied palate, with more fine-boned tannins than fruit and a long, structured finish. Drink from 2028."
James Suckling, January 2026, JamesSuckling.com
"A ton of finesse and tension, this is a beautiful wine with fragrance and hidden power, A touch of austerity, good grip and slate character to the tannins, a ton of focus and precision. Cassis, spiced plum, pomegranate, slate, totally delivers on En Primeur, but be aware that it needs time to soften further. 45% new oak for ageing."
