A slightly more old-fashioned style of white Bordeaux when compared to say, Marjosse Blanc 2023 which is a more modern, exotic style. It’s no surprise it’s made by Olivier Bernard from Domaine de Chevalier, it’s clearly cut from the same cloth.

This is 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc. Pears, and white flowers jump out of the glass with a limey edge too. The palate is oily, rich and rounded, with more citrus, green apple and freshly cut grass. The finish is sappy and limey. I suspect this will work very nicely with shellfish and lightly spiced dishes.

"Aromas of Anjou pear, white peach and lime tree leaves introduce the 2023 Lune d'Argent, a juicy, fresh, round, charming, elegant and sapid wine with bright acids and an ethereal finish. This is a blend of 70% Sémillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc."
Yohan Castaing, April 2024, RobertParker.com

"The 2023 Lune d'Argent was picked from August 28 to September 21 over several passes through the vines. It comprises 70% Sémillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc. The Lune d’Argent has an open nose, a little lighter than expected, though it gains intensity with aeration. Scents of Golden Delicious apple and light grass clippings emerge from the glass. The palate is nicely balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and sapid, presenting a lovely umami sensation. It has a fair bit of complexity toward the pithy finish thanks to that Sémillon. Excellent."

"The 2023 Lune d'Argent is laced with hints of dried lemon peel, almond, dried flowers and peach. This airy, dry white from Olivier Bernard is attractive, although it’s a bit light in this vintage."
Antonio Galloni, April 2024, Vinous.com

"This is round and compact with vivid acidity and a light phenolic edge to it. It has a floral character with fresh orchard fruit and stones. Medium-bodied and nervy with a chalky finish. Outstanding depth. 70% semillon and 30% sauvignon."
James Suckling, April 2024, James Suckling.com
