"The 2023 d'Arsac has a rather conservative bouquet with blackberry, raspberry coulis and touches of licorice. It just requires a bit more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry, though the acidity keeps this Margaux on an even keel. Nicely integrated oak emerges toward the finish. There's plenty of body here, it is just the aromatics that need to pull up their socks during barrel-maturation. There's potential, but the élevage will be crucial. This is not far behind the previous vintage."
Neal Martin, April 2024, Vinous.com

"Unfussy and enjoyable, with silky textured tannins, fresh balanced acidities, blueberry and cassis fruits with edges of peony and iris fragrance that speak of the appellation, even while a lemongrass edge suggests full ripeness was skirted. Not the longest ageing Margaux but full of pleasure and easy to drink, no need to wait too long. Ageing 80% in French oak barrels, 55% new, with the rest in stainless steel. Philippe Raoux's last vintage. A Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel at the last ranking, likely to be renewed with the new one later this year."
Jane Anson, April 2024, JaneAnson.com

"A fresh and slightly lean 2023 with a medium to light body, firm and chewy tannins and a medium finish."
James Suckling, April 2024, James Suckling.com
