"As usual, the 2023 Puygueraud, a blend of 90% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec, remains a sure bet for readers seeking well-executed Bordeaux wines. It exhibits aromas of mulberries, blueberries, spices and delicate oaky hints. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it’s fleshy and seamless with a long, dense and mineral finish framed by licorice and spice hints."

"The 2023 Puygueraud feels just a little muddled on the nose and lacks the delineation that I have discerned on other vintages. The palate is medium-bodied, with sour cherry on the opening, dry tannins and a lightweight finish. I have drunk much better from this estate."
Neal Martin, February 2026, Vinous.com
"The 2023 Puygueraud is laced with dark red cherry, blood orange, plum, spice, dried herbs, mocha and licorice. It has good intensity but also dries out a bit on the close. This is the first vintage to include some Malbec in the blend. It will be interesting to see if this softens with élevage. Tasted four times."
Antonio Galloni, April 2024, Vinous.com
"Soft and delicious, showing blackberry, mushroom, bark and spice aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied with round tannins and a savory, even plush finish. Sweet, ripe fruit. But then goes crunchy. A blend of 90% merlot, 9% cabernet franc and 1% malbec. Drink or hold."
