"The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Porrets-Saint-Georges 1er Cru was taken from the tank. This is pure and opulent on the nose, but there is a sense of control and delineation here. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe black fruit notes, touches of blueberry and raspberry coulis and just a hint of licorice toward the finish. Give this three or four years in bottle."

"Cask sample. Sweet start and tannins nicely tamed – very different from the old Gouges style! Serious wine and very long. Classic – in a good way."

"Racked to tank in October, to bottle in December. Deep purple. The bouquet is certainly a rich expression of pinot fruit without being over-ripe. Very full on the palate yet with energy through adequate acidity. Excellent balance and persistence. A fresh classic. "

"This 3.37 ha monopole sits on Premeaux rose limestone, which can be felt throughout the wine. The nose smells of crushed chalk mixed with mulberries, and the palate has a finely dry bite. Talc-like tannins cooperate with crunchy acidity to give a firm frame. Wait at least five to six years for this as there is a lot to unpack."
