Gus's Bordeaux 2025 Picks
My Picks are not necessarily the highest-scoring wines of the vintage, nor are they always the most famous names. Rather, they are the wines I would personally recommend after considering three factors: how they performed in the glass, the price at which they have been released, and how they compare with both recent vintages and the wider market.
When tasting en primeur, price is still unknown, so a wine can impress greatly on quality alone. Once the releases begin, however, the picture becomes much clearer. Some excellent wines are simply too expensive relative to comparable vintages already available in the market, whilst others emerge as genuine opportunities. My Picks are those wines where quality and value align most convincingly, the bottles I believe offer the best buying opportunities for drinking, cellaring or collecting. In short, if a friend asked me where I would be spending my own money in Bordeaux 2025, this is where I would point them.
