Rod and Spur is Rockford’s homage to the classic Australian Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon blends that dominated the country’s premium red wine scene in the 1950s and 1960s. The name refers to the traditional rod and spur pruning method still used by Rockford’s growers. Both varieties are fermented and basket pressed in the old winery, then aged separately in seasoned French and American oak before the final blend is assembled.
