"Introverted and shy at this stage, the 2025 Malartic Lagravière reveals aromas of spice, lead pencil and dark berries. Medium- to full-bodied, structured and somewhat lean, it shows a firm profile and concludes with a spicy, lead pencil–inflected finish."
Yohan Castaing, April 2026, RobertParker.com

"The 2025 Malartic Lagravière has a pretty nose with pure blackberry, cedar and graphite notes, turning more floral and Margaux-like with time in the glass. The oak is very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, gentle grip, fine acidity and a smooth finish that has a patina of new oak that needs to be integrated with a couple of years in bottle. Promising, but has it got something extra up its sleeve?"
Neal Martin, May 2026, Vinous.com

"The 2025 Malartic Lagravière is a dark, sumptuous beauty. Black cherry, menthol, licorice, dried herbs, chocolate and cloves convey virile, almost somber, intensity. Muscular tannins add to that impression. The 2025 is going to need time to be at its most expressive, but it has a ton of potential. Tasted three times."
Antonio Galloni, April 2026, Vinous.com

"Enjoyable, sappy, plenty of lift and dark fruit, incense and sandalwood, you can see the structure and shape of the tannins and it is very much a wine where the acidity is controlled, giving a really juicy mouthfeel, great energy, definition and precision. Excellent job. 38 hl/ha yield."
Jane Anson, April 2026, JaneAnson.com

"(Pessac-Léognan; 57.5% Cabernet Sauvignon; 39% Merlot; 3% Petit Verdot; 0.5% Cabernet Franc; a final yield of an impressive 38 hl/ha; pH 3.6; 13.3% alcohol; tasted three times, the second time at the property). Delightfully pure and focussed with a lovely damson, blueberry and blackcurrant fruit signature, generous cedar and a little graphite, pencil shavings and a hint of leather, a trace of walnut oil too and kalamata olive tapenade. Ample on the attack yet very fluid and sinuous, this rolls and glides over the palate and has a gorgeously elegant mouthfeel - somehwere between silk and cashmere as it were. A beautiful wine. Tactile and sumptuously succulent. A touch of menthol on the finish and a trace of iodine/oystershell. I love it. Le Comte de Malartic (Pessac-Léognan; 87% Merlot; 13% Cabernet Sauvignon; pH 3.4; 13.3% alcohol). Plump, with juicy bramble and black berry, a twist or two of black pepper and that distinct saline minerality. Quite tight tannins. Impressively dense and compact. Chewy. Substantial (89-91). "
