"The 2023 Château Malescot St.-Exupéry remains charming and approachable, revealing aromas of cassis, violet, dark berries and pepper, seamlessly integrated with oak. Medium- to full-bodied, rich and dense, it is built around a sapid, enveloping core of fruit, framed by velvety tannins and concluding with a delicately fresh, licorice-inflected finish. The blend—58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot—was matured for the first time partly in foudres, complemented by 60% new oak."

"The 2023 Malescot Saint-Exupéry is quite discreet on the nose, light brambly black fruit commingling with cedar and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. Well-balanced and harmonious, there is a patina of oak to be assimilated on the finish, but it has commendable elegance with a dash of black pepper on the aftertaste. Discreet, but classy."

"The 2023 Malescot St. Exupéry is a powerful, brooding wine. A blast of dark cherry fruit, plum, new leather, licorice, incense, tobacco, dried herbs, iron and chocolate makes a strong opening statement. Firm tannins wrap it all together in a decidedly potent, explosive Margaux."
Antonio Galloni, March 2026, Vinous.com
"Attractive aromas of dried roses, red currants and raspberries with a hint of lavender follow through to a medium body with fine tannins that are polished and poised. Caressing texture. A blend of 58% cabernet sauvignon, 37% merlot, and 5% petit verdot. Best after 2028."
James Suckling, January 2026, JamesSuckling.com
"Deep ruby colour, grilled sandalwood and incense, cocoa bean and campfire, blackberry and cassis, high extraction, Léa Zuger come back five years ago from Canada to take over at the estate from her father Jean-Luc Zuger. Michel Rolland consultant. 60% new oak, harvest September 19 though to October 10, 39hl/h yield, 26.8ha in production right now because just pulled out their Cabernet Franc to replant with Cabernet Sauvignon."
