Critic reviews
"The 2025 Marsau reveals a dark, somewhat root-inflected bouquet of black fruits, spices, gentian and lead pencil, with a refined, perfumed character. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and fleshy, it’s built around a well-defined structure, combining elegance with a distinct sense of identity, concluding with a persistent, lead pencil–inflected finish. As always, this is a superb value in Bordeaux."

"The 2025 Marsau is a potent 100% Merlot on clay. Powerful and explosive, the 2025 possesses remarkable density from start to finish. Black fruit, mocha, licorice, dark spice and chocolate fill out the layers. Yields were just 20 hectoliters per hectare. All that richness comes through in the glass."
Antonio Galloni, April 2026, Vinous.com
"This linear wine shows blackberries, blueberries and some dark chocolate. It’s medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins. The texture is so caressing. Lovely length. A pure and precise wine. Aged in in concrete tank and 30-hectoliter casks."
James Suckling, April 2026, JamesSuckling.com
"Ripe plum, raspberry, damson, sage, tobacco, slate, juicy and appealing, lots of textural elements that keep you engaged, acidity in check, this is an excellent quality Marsau that is easy to recommend. A tiny yield of 20hl/ha, after just 40mm of rain from mid June right through to end of August. Harvest September 11 to 19, early for this sector but in line with the vintage. 50hl cement vats in winery since 2024 to do plot-by-plot vinification, careful hands off extraction, ageing is 30% in cement and the rest in neutral casks. 3.6ph, this is a very regular level at this estate."

"Fragranced aromatics with violets and red cherries. Smooth and supple, this has both lovely purity and ripeness of plum and raspberry fruit that slowly expands round the mouth. Filling but light on its feet too with gently mouthwatering acidity alongside chalkiness, flint, iron, blood orange, slate and tobacco spice. The texture and persistence is lovely. Great quality. 3.6pH. A yield of 20hl/ha."

"(Francs, Côtes de Bordeaux; 100% Merlot; a final yield of 20 hl/ha; pH 3.6; 14.5% alcohol; certified organic; 30% cement and 70% foudres large format wood). Very terroir-expressive. Al dente. Picked nice and early, the fruit croquant and crunchy. Cassis and bramble, but hyper-fresh, not the baked bramble of many. A little graphite with some freshly cracked green and rose peppercorns. This has a tight frame, but a fluidity and sinuous character to the flow of the fruit over the palate that is very engaging. Succulent, juicy and delightfully scrunchy."
