"Newly promoted to Grand Selezione status, the 2009 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Badia a Passignano shows evolved tones of charred earth, dried cherry, chewing tobacco, tar, black olive and toasted hazelnut. Dusty spice and crushed mineral appear as the wine warms in the glass. The wine stills needs time to fully blossom and soften the remaining tannic sharpness."
