Founded in 1829, Bollinger remains one of Champagne's most distinctive and respected houses. Family-owned for much of its history and fiercely protective of its traditions, it has long pursued a richer, more vinous style than many of its peers. It is no coincidence that Bollinger became James Bond's Champagne of choice, appearing in the films for over 40 years.

Special Cuvée is the house's flagship non-vintage Champagne and serves as the perfect introduction to the Bollinger style. Built around a Pinot Noir-dominant blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier, it incorporates an unusually high proportion of reserve wines, some aged for many years before release. The result is a Champagne of remarkable consistency, depth and complexity.

Aromas of baked apple, brioche, roasted nuts and citrus peel lead into a generous, textured palate balanced by fresh acidity and a fine, persistent mousse. More substantial and food-friendly than many non-vintage Champagnes, Special Cuvée combines richness and precision in equal measure. Quite simply, it remains one of the benchmarks of the category and one of the finest introductions to the world of Champagne.

Critic reviews
"Like its rosé counterpart, the latest release of Bollinger's NV Brut Special Cuvée is showing especially well, bursting from the glass with aromas of honeyed apples, crisp stone fruit, buttery pastry, ripe lemons and fresh walnuts. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and vinous, with a deep core of beautifully ripe fruit, racy acids and a pillowy mousse, it's a charming, characterful wine that proves that Special Cuvée is firmly back where it belongs."
