"The 2015 Bellefont Belcier is a blend of 68% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 20 months in 80% new and 20% one-year-old barrels. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it has lovely cassis, red currant and black raspberries scents with touches of underbrush, pencil lead and dried herbs. The medium to full-bodied palate is firm, chewy and rich with good expression and a long earthy finish."

"The 2015 Bellefont Belcier is a blend of 68% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon cropped at 39 hl/ha. Matured in 80% new oak, it has a sweet, ripe black cherry and boysenberry nose. At the property, the nose showed a little blowsiness, though subsequent samples exuded much more freshness. There is a touch of shoe polish here. The palate is dense and balanced with fine tannins and well-judged acidity. The palate has much more to offer than the aromatics and the lascivious finish is both harmonious and sensual, a touch of spice lingering on the aftertaste. This is a very well-crafted Saint Emilion with panache and class."

"Powerful, dense and explosive, with notable thrust to the red cherry, plum, leather and licorice flavors, the dramatic, full-throttle 2015 Bellefont-Belcier is every bit as impressive as it was from barrel. Dark red cherry, mocha, new leather and spice build into the racy, voluptuous finish. The tannins need time to soften, but all the elements are in the right place. In a word: terrific."

"A luscious, richly balanced wine with plenty of blackberry and raspberry fruit, muscular still at 8 years old but beginning to soften as the limestone terroir takes the upper hand. Finely placed tannic hold, a twist of salinity on the finish balancing out the cocoa bean and grilled cedar notes. The final night of the Mentor Week 2023 was held at Bellefont-Belcier, and it was without a doubt one of the highlights of the year."
