"The 2011 Bourgneuf has a tightly-wound bouquet with blackberry, briary, sous-bois and cigar box aromas that gradually unfold. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine acidity, more cohesion and substance than its peers with fine balance on the finish. This is drinking perfectly now. Tasted blind at the annual 10-Year-On tasting."

"Bright medium ruby. High-pitched aromas of fresh blackcurrant, blueberry and minerals are accented by an extremely intense violet perfume. Sweet, dense and plush, but with very good inner-mouth lift to the dark fruit and spice flavors. Finishes with fine-grained tannins and lingering floral and blackcurrant flavors. Very successful for the vintage."
