Critic reviews
"The 2025 Château d'Aiguilhe was picked from September 6 to 22 and matured in 20% new oak. This seems a bit reticent on the nose, needs more fruit, more vigour. That will come with time. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins, but it coheres very nicely on the mid-palate. Linear in style, very sapid, with moderate length, this often sells for a reasonable price and it should drink well for a decade."

"The 2025 d'Aiguilhe offers up a heady concoction of red/purplish fruit, lavender, black pepper, rose petal, cinnamon, new leather and blood orange. There's gorgeous textural depth here, but also plenty of energy to complement the wine's fruit intensity and overall richness. The tannins will need a bit of time to soften."

"A fresh and engaging showing: a wet-stone note on the nose alongside bright red cherry fruit gives an immediate sense of lift. The palate packs plenty of juice, underpinned by lively acidity (pH 3.35) that keeps everything energetic, if not quite as seamlessly balanced as the best examples in this vintage that marry ripeness and freshness more completely. Still, a well-crafted wine with good vibrancy and charm - and more convincing than some peers in this price range, and an enjoyable expression overall. "

"(Castillon, Côtes de Bordeaux; 80% Merlot; 20% Cabernet Franc; a final yield of 30 hl/ha; 13.5% alcohol; tasted at Canon-La-Gaffelière with Stephan and Ludovic von Neipperg). So different in its terroir aspect from Clos Marsalette tasted immediately before but with the same quality of tannin management and the gentleness of the extraction both very evident. Black raspberry, redcurrant, blackcurrant and a little cherry. This is ample on the attack and then grabbed and massaged by the limestone tannins that draw this back to the spine. But, after the pinch of the tannins, this opens to form a fantail finish. So pure with that lovely tactile touch of chalk on the finish reminding you - though you could hardly forget - from whence this hails. This posesses the kind of energy that only organic viticulture can produce."
