Domaine Bernard Moreau are one of my favourite white Burgundy producers. Alex has a remarkable knack of being able to balance power, freshness and elegance. Tasting his range side by side is always a highlight when I visit, particularly comparing his eight 1er Crus sites in Chassagne Montrachet together reinforces the concept of terroir and the influence on the resultant wine.

This is a new St-Aubin in his range. A yeasty bready nose, peaches, ginger, lemon and star anise. Rather champagne-like in many ways. The palate very elegant, refreshing and crisp, a slightly oily texture with hints of honey and lemon, mid weight and minimal oak influence. Lovely balance, really fresh. Little hint of cashew, honey and ripe lemon on the finish.
