"The organic G.D. Vajra 2023 Langhe Freisa Kyè shows a concentrated appearance with aromas of wild plum, blackberry and juniper. You also get savory tones of cinnamon and white pepper that reflect the naturally thick skins and high tannin content of the Freisa grape, a historic Piedmont variety closely related to Nebbiolo. The wine is tight and fresh on the palate with an easy approach that makes it versatile and fundamentally food-friendly. It delivers a chewy texture and succulent fruit flavors with some rusticity on the close."

"The 2023 Langhe Freisa Kyè is going to need a few years to come into its own. Blue/purplish fruit, gravel, incense, licorice, game and dried flowers give this bold Freisa quite a bit of character. The 2023 is a bit burly, but it is also very expressive of variety. In most years, Vajra tames the rustic side of Freisa, but here variety wins."
