"The 2020 Brut Blanc de Noirs is a pure Pinot Noir that makes the most of the ripeness of 2020. The base wines were fermented in oak puncheons and aged on lees before tirage, spending 48 months on lees. Exquisitely pure and bright notes of ripe red apple are fragrant, rounded and fresh on the nose, promising a ripe apple's tart juiciness and creamy flesh. The palate obliges easily, adding buttery mellowness and more lemon verve while a very fine, creamy mousse outlines elegance. Brightness and freshness are utterly central and lip-smacking here, yet they are ripe and exquisitely balanced. This has concentration, drive, energy and, quite simply, tons of joy. Dosage is 8.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: June 2025."

"Full bottle 1,622 g. 100% Pinot Noir from the brow of the hill of a single 6.5-ha vineyard planted on chalk and gravel on the outskirts of Marlow in southern Buckinghamshire. Fermentation in 500-litre oak puncheons. Bottled 12 May 2021, disgorged 1 July 2025. 48 months sur lattes. Dosage 8.5 g/l, TA 8.1 g/l. Henry and Kaye Laithwaite have magician powers to coax this much ripeness and buttery, nutty richness from Buckinghamshire soils – it’s Buckinghamshire with Bollinger ambitions. Gorgeous, extravagant, and yet there is racy elegance. I wish ‘amplicity’ was a word, because this wine is both ample and absolutely crackling with electricity. Clementine, salt-pickled peaches, even a little mango. Bubbles like the salty hiss of lace left by the sea on a fine-sand beach. I’ve not met Henry and Kaye, but I can’t help thinking that people who make wines like this must have big hearts."

"Nose with citrus fruits and blossom leads to a toasty lemon tart, digestive, brioche palate with a very taut structure and refreshing finish."
