"Aromas of cassis, plums, red fruits and spices introduce the 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur, a medium to full-bodied, lively wine that's one of the firmer, more youthfully structured cuvées in the Drouhin range this year. It will reward a bit of patience."

"The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur 1er Cru has a more minerally bouquet that's a little more austere at the moment but with impressive delineation and elegance. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It doesn't have the same level of grip as its peers, but it is very pure, graceful and silky smooth in texture. This is delicious."
Neal Martin, January 2025, Vinous.com
"Cask sample. More fruit than I was expecting: Seville orange, cherry candy, tart raspberry. A little necklet of tiny flowers. Lovely tart shards glinting through the sweetness; an underlay of truffle and autumn-leaf loam. A wine that stratifies delicacy with full-on charm, earth-rooted grunt with wood-spiced ambition."
Tamlyn Currin, November 2024, JancisRobinson.com
"Rich purple, with evidently riper fruit. The suavity of the fruit is gorgeous, a dense almost plummy raspberry, this is a Clos Prieur with more stuffing than one sometimes finds in this vineyard. A crispness to the finish, to keep it honest. Drink from 2030-2036."
Jasper Morris, January 2027, InsideBurgundy.com
"Black cherry cola, underbrush and black plums surge onto the palate. This is dense and muscular—a very typical Gevrey Premier Cru—with firm but corralled tannins and invigorating acidity. Everything is already nicely in its place. Tinges of espresso beans creep in as the wine sits on the palate. This will have serious staying power in the cellar. This is 100% purchased fruit."
