Critic reviews
"Aromas of dark berries, rose petals, pencil shavings and blood orange introduce the 2025 Resèrve de la Comtesse, a medium- to full-bodied, deep and nicely balanced wine (weighing in at 13%) with good mid-palate density, ripe tannins and a pure finish."
William Kelley, April 2026, RobertParker.com
"The 2025 Pichon Comtesse Réserve comes in at 13% alcohol this year, with no Cabernet Franc, which is all in the Grand Vin this year, something that Nicolas Glumineau said was a surprise given the growing season. There is a palpable estuarine influence on the nose, blackberry and bilberry fruit, touches of violet in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a fine bead of acidity, very harmonious, with a tingle of cracked black pepper on the finish. Again, a very classically styled "cool" Pauillac."

"The 2025 Réserve de la Comtesse is all class, all finesse. Open-knit floral overtones and silky, polished tannins announce a Réserve that is more about restraint than power. Rose petal, dark red cherry, plum, mocha, new leather and licorice build with time in the glass. There's plenty of textural depth in this captivating Réserve."

"Floral fragrance, lots of purple flowers on the nose with aromatic blue and black berry fruit. Supple and so creamy, this is just gorgeous from the get go, smooth and round, crushed velvety in texture with a slight grip, slight bounce and slight tension. The juicy content is just so great, pure, crystalline, a lick of salty, wet stone, slate, oyster shell. Very Pauillac in the undertone of mint, Cab liquorice and tobacco but so elegant. I love it. A yield of 24hl/ha. Ageing 50% new oak maximum."

"(Pauillac; 52% Cabernet Sauvignon; 46% Merlot; 2% Petit Verdot; pH 3.7; IPT 66; 13% alcohol; tasted at the property with Florent Genty). A little more closed than it often is at first. Rosemary, thyme, a little heather even and plump black with some red berry fruits, a little cheryy but not much. This opens very nicely and is a little different from the previous vintages, perhaps a little more ample in frame and more relaxed, a little less taut. Crystalline and pure with lovely fruit clarity, a touch of sandalwood and a hint of coconut."
