"Intense and nearly salty in character, the 2022 Soave Classico Calvarino opens with an array of crushed stones, savory herbs and citrus-inflected nectarines. It blends savory and sweet with a zesty core of acidity to balance, as vividly ripe orchard fruits mix with crunchy mineral tones throughout. Dramatically long and full of tension, the 2022 leaves the palate buzzing and craving another saline sip. Cellaring will likely reveal even more."

This is very good, meshing the inherent ripeness of the vintage with a mineral-infused pungency. Green apples, quince and stone fruit. Yet the feel is linear, cool and taut, with a growing trajectory of fruit sweetness across the long, energetic finish. A pithy exclamation to close. Drink or hold."
