"Derived from climat Vaulorent, Billaud's 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Les Fourchaumes delivers notes of sweet citrus oil, iodine, beeswax, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with bright acids and a saline finish, this later-ripening site remains dynamic despite the warm year."

"The 2022 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru replaces the Vaulorent as the grower did not want to sell to Samuel Billaud. Vinified in five-year-old Chassin barrels, the pretty nose has petrichor and Granny Smith scents. The well-balanced palate has a detailed, citric core of fruit dovetailing into a more malic, sharp, penetrating finish. Again, there is just so much energy coiled up in this Premier Cru. Excellent."
