"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Marquis d'Alesme Becker leaps from the glass with gregarious notions of plum preserves, crème de cassis and Black Forest cake with hints of potpourri, star anise, menthol and tapenade. Full, rich, firm and grainy, with fantastic freshness lifting the densely packed palate, it has a long, beautifully fragrant finish."
Lisa Perrotti-Brown, March 2019, RobertParker.com
"The 2016 Marquis d'Alesme Becker is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc cropped between 4-24 October and matured in 65% new oak. It has a tight and focused bouquet, well defined but less generous than its peers: blackberry, briary, a touch of limestone and cedar aromas gently unfolding in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a grainy texture, very harmonious with superb depth, perhaps demonstrating more roundness and opulence than its peers with a very concentrated finish where I would just like to see more finesse come through."

"The 2016 Marquis d'Alesme Becker is going to need a few years to come into its own, but there is no question it has turned out beautifully. Espresso, savory herb, licorice, mint and raspberry jam build in a resonant, expressive Margaux that speaks with a real sense of distinction."
Antonio Galloni December 2018, Vinous.com
"This is a vintage with plenty of structure, and things remain a little closed even at 7 years old. Give it time to unroll the blackberry and bilberry fruits, and enjoy the oyster shell salinity on the mouthwatering finish, together with a curl of crayon, woodsmoke and soy that add length and an umami touch. Harvest October 4 to October 14. Marjolaine de Coninck technical director and CEO, owner Nathalie Perrodo."
