"The 2024 Cantenac Brown was cropped at a very low 16 hectoliters per hectare and represents 52% of the estate's production. The new winery's battery of smaller tanks made it possible to isolate sub-parcels to attain more homogenous maturity. Offering up aromas of cassis, violets and pencil shavings, it's medium-bodied, with good density and concentration, built around sweet tannins and integrated acids. It's a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27.5% Merlot and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot."
William Kelley, April 2025, RobertParker.com

"The 2024 Batailley was picked from September 2—considerably earlier than other estates—until October 5. This was raised in 57% new oak barrels. It has an open-knit bouquet with blackberry, briar, mocha and graphite scents that emerge with time. This is finely delineated while keeping the typical Batailley style. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, fine tannins and touches of pencil lead and black pepper leading to the cohesive, lightly grippy finish. The nicely composed 2024 should give 20 years of drinking pleasure."

"The 2024 Cantenac Brown is a classic wine from the château. Even in this vintage, all the signatures are present. Opulent dark fruit, new leather, incense, cloves, new leather and chocolate are dialed up. Technical Director Jose Sanfins and his team did a terrific job capturing all the elements of the house style, which is about as strong a compliment as is possible in this vintage. The 2024 will be fascinating to taste in a vertical some years down the road. New oak is 60%. Tasted two times."
Antonio Galloni, April 2025, Vinous.com

"A velvety, densely fruited red with a delicate texture. Cherries and some pine needles on the nose. Medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins. Silky and delicious with some more berry and chocolate character on the finish."
James Suckling, May 2025, JamesSuckling.com

"A step up in terms of concentration and structure, blackberry, cassis bud, raspberry leaf, slate, crayon, good stretch out through the palate, enjoyable. First full vintage in the new cellar here. Jose Sanfins director, Tristan Le Lous owner, 60% new oak, new winery fully completed as of this vintage."
