"The 2024 Château de Sales is a dark, somber Pomerol. Strong earthy notes lead into black fruit, menthol, licorice, tobacco, leather and dried herbs. I would very much like to see if Château de Sales, the largest estate in Pomerol, could soften the intensely savory (at times vegetal) imprint of their wines and also find a bit more finesse in the tannins. Obviously, 2024 did not provide the ideal conditions, but these have been the penalizing attributes of de Sales for some time."
