"The 2022 Beaune Les Grèves 1er Cru has a little more delineation and Pinoté on the nose than the Clos de Roi. There is a slight earthiness at play here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and good tension. More mineralité is at play with a vivid, quite structured finish. This is a superb Grèves from Nathalie Tollot and her team."

"(from a .5 ha holding situated immediately below the L’Enfant Jésus monopole of Bouchard). This is ripe yet attractively perfumed with its broad array of red and dark berries, spice, pungent earth and a whiff of smoky character. There is much better volume and evident power to the medium-bodied flavors that possess notably better depth and persistence on the solidly structured finale. This well-balanced effort is not a monster of concentration but there is more than enough stuffing present to repay at least mid-term keeping and perhaps even out to 15 years. One to look for. 92/2032+"

"Attractive mid purple. The oak seems to be showing a little more on the nose, but that can be the individual sample. There is a creative tension here with a fresher red fruit on the palate, raspberry and redcurrant, well refined tannins, and good length. This will develop with time into an excellent Grèves. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted: October 2023."
