"The 2022 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru comes from two parcels, one on the east and the other on the west side of the climat that have different degrees of sunshine. It has a lovely bouquet with mirabelle, lime and orange blossom scents that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Harmonious and poised, this has life-affirming tension on the finish. One of the most sophisticated and cerebral wines of the vintage."

"Generous but not dominant wood influence frames lightly exotic aromas of white peach, apricot, lychee and a hint of sea breeze. There is outstanding volume and mid-palate density to the wonderfully sleek and more refined mineral-driven flavors that coat the mouth with dry extract on the chalky, detailed and beautifully balanced finale. This too could use better depth but it's strikingly stylish and has the underlying material to develop more complexity with time in bottle."
Allen Meadows, October 2023, Burghound.com
"Samuel Billaud has vines on each side of the valley. The nose is notably more backward with an amazing crystalline character cutting right through the flesh. A level above the others. All the intensity, nothing vulgar here or too ripe. An extraordinary rendition. The oak is perfectly proportioned. Drink from 2030-2040."
