"The 2021 Chablis Vaulorent 1er Cru replaces the Vaillons this year and Billaud's supplier could not deliver - only two barrels-worth. It has a taut and crisp bouquet with green apple and light wild peach aromas. The palate is firm with nice acidity; it's linear and correct with hints of white peach and pear towards the pretty finish. Very fine."

"This had just finished its malo and not surprisingly the nose was dominated by lactic nuances. More interesting are the rich and solidly concentrated larger and more lavishly textured flavors that are at once caressing but quite punchy while exhibiting plenty of youthful austerity on the lingering finale. This quite firmly structured effort will also need to develop more depth as it's somewhat one dimensional at the moment."

"Only Vaulorent this year. Attractive pale lemon colour, still very backward on the nose, just a sense of power. Swells on the palate, much more in yellow fruit this time, with les beaux amers, the pretty bitterness, at the end of the palate. Very lively."
