"The 2024 Forts de Latour is a powerful, searingly tannic wine that will demand cellaring. Then again, it won't be released anytime soon, as is the château's practice today. Graphite, pencil shavings, blue/black fruit, leather and incense open with some coaxing, but it is the wine's structure that is especially prominent. Beams of tannin frame the mid-palate and finish."
Antonio Galloni, April 2025, Vinous.com
"Real depth of dark cherries, berries, currants and blackberries. Huge concentration, but the tannin quality is clear, with some dustiness. Really long, broad, full-bodied and intense. This will age well. 65.5% cabernet sauvignon, 25.5% merlot and 9% petit verdot."
James Suckling, May 2025, JamesSuckling.com
"Lean muscularity, juicy salinity, this captures the fragrance and finesse that is possible to deliver in the vintage, with concentrated black fruits, squid ink, liquorice and tobacco leaf flavour, and an unfussy earthy character that belies its low 11hl/ha yield. I would expect this to begin drinking within five to six years. 70% new oak for ageing, 5% press. 44% of the production, Hélène Genin director."
