"This is a lovely wine. I'd rather drink this, in fact, than many higher scoring wines. Why? Because it is fresh, lithe and thirst-slaking, not to mention beautifully poised, medium-bodied and succulent. Who cares about concentration when a wine is this savory and gluggable? A verdant edge to the violets, mulberries and damsons, with an astringent lilt. A dangerous, energetic finish. This reminds me of a good Chinon or better, Cahors. Among the classiest quaffers ever. Love this! Drink now, but best after 2025."

"Winemaker Sarah Crowe has such a no-nonsense, almost fierce don’t-bullshit-me, muddy-boots-firmly-on-the-ground way about her and yet her wines are utterly joyous. They make me want to laugh for the sheer pleasure of tasting them. She is not afraid to unleash the sun-lit, sun-splashed, bring-your-galoshes-we’re-up-to-our-knees-in-juice fruitiness of her vines. Like this wine. Malbec blueberries. Cabernet redcurrants. Tannins as soft as brushed velvet ribbons wound along harpstring-harmony tension of structure and acidity. A leafiness that tastes like fresh bay leaves soaked into water for two days. And dill. This would be divine with a smoked-lamb, rocket and hawthorn-berry-jam sandwich."
