Bordeaux 2023 En Primeur:
Pessac-Léognan
Brightness is a term repeatedly used in my notes from this appellation. So many of the wines we tasted were vibrant, pure, and polished. This appellation is often a source of great quality for the price compared to appellations further north.
Le Carmes Haut Brion and its second wine, Le C de Carmes, were both delightful. Then, Château de Fieuzal continued a rich vein of form. Following extensive work in the winery, Château La Garde is a great value choice. Malartic-Lagraviere and Domaine de Chevalier should be smart buys once more if prices are where I expect them to be.
