Pomerol
A delightful set of wines from Pomerol this year. The freshness here stood out versus 2022, and the purity of the fruit was right up my street. Vieux Château Certan put the biggest smile on my face all week, an utter joy to taste and Alexandre Thienpont was on such good form, no wonder given the quality of wine he made here.
La Conseillante was pipped by Vieux Château Certan to my favourite wine of Pomerol, Château Bourgneuf from the Moueix-stable is the highlight at a slightly more affordable price point.
